Water is the foundation of every good fast. It's not optional — it's essential. Hydration supports your cells, organs, and mindset. But don’t stop there: a good-quality salt (like sea salt or Himalayan salt) is equally important to avoid electrolyte depletion and keep you feeling steady during your fast.
Still, let’s be honest — especially in the beginning or during extended fasts, a little help goes a long way.
That’s where Fasting Aids come in.

Fasting aids can help support your body — and your willpower — especially in the early stages of fasting or during longer fasts 24-36 hours. Or during therapeutic fasting 2-3 days.
✅ When (and When Not) to Use Fasting Aids
❤️ Yes, use them if...
You’re new to fasting
You’re extending your fasting time (e.g., 24 or 36 hours)
You’re adjusting to a new fasting schedule
You’re trying to get through a weight-loss stall

Your goal is autophagy (deep cellular healing) — stick to water + salt only
You’ve outgrown the need for them — awesome! Drop them and keep going

Here are my tried-and-true favorites:
❤️ Heavy cream or organic half & half (in moderation, and only if dairy is tolerated — always choose organic)
❤️ MCT oil
❤️ Butter or ghee (again, organic and only if tolerated)
❤️ Coconut cream
❤️ Bone broth
❤️ Pickle juice or olive brine
❤️ Apple cider vinegar
❤️ Lemon or lime juice
❤️ Naturally flavored sparkling water
These won’t break your fast if used correctly (more on that below) and can be the difference between giving up... or powering through like a champ.
💡 Fasting Aids I Recommend Most Often:
❤️ DISTRACTION! Go for a walk, call a friend, organize a drawer — change your focus.
❤️ Meditation or Yoga — relax, reset, and remind yourself why you started.
❤️ Bone Broth — warm, comforting, and mineral-rich.
❤️ Coffee or Tea — enhance it with half & half, heavy cream, coconut cream, butter, ghee, or cocoa butter.
