21 Day Reset Challenge with Coach❤️Theah P
....why I avoid grains & Gluten and so should you
Grains: What to quit & Why
❤️ Keep in mind, supportive foods move you closer to your health goals
❤️ Unsupportive foods can impair your progress.
❤️ My top items to avoid to get healthy, quit seed oils, eliminate poisonous things, and avoid grains & gluten.
🛑~STOP~ Yes, they really are that bad!
🚫Grains provide little by way of nutrition, especially compared to meat and produce.
🚫There is no need for grains in your diet
🚫Grains contain substances that contribute to poor gut health, autoimmune disorders, and other health problems.
🚫Gluten is probably the most well-known and egregious, but other compounds like lectins are problematic for many people.
🚫Grains are high in carbohydrates. Therefore, grain-based foods are poor choices for people with glucose (blood sugar) issues, chronically high insulin, insulin resistance, and other metabolic diseases.
~You are ALLOWED to eat whatever you want~
❤️ You are CHOOSING foods that are consistent with your goals ❤️
❤️I recommend a total elimination of grains from your diet for this 30 days. Many people notice an immediate improvement in digestive symptoms like bloating, skin issues, joint pain, fatigue, and much more. Pay attention to any chronic or recurring symptoms you’ve been struggling with and see if you notice a difference!
If you are struggling, start with eliminating grains with Gluten and going "Gluten Free"
What is Gluten?
Gluten is a protein found in wheat and some other grains. It can be natural in foods or can be added for texture and flavor. Gluten works as a binder in food therefore is often added to avoid crumbling or separation.
What Does Gluten Do To The Gut?
For some people, gluten can be eaten without issues, but for many people this is not the case. Gluten cannot be fully broken down before it enters the small intestine. In people with sensitive gut linings, gluten can cause increased permeability of the intestinal wall, leading to leaky gut syndrome. For people with gluten allergies or celiac disease, eating gluten can set off an autoimmune response, and effect overall health negatively. In addition, for the those with other autoimmune issues, such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis, gluten can trigger increased inflammation and gut dysbiosis.
What Are Reasons That Going Gluten Free Can Be Helpful?
For many, going gluten free can result in reduced inflammation in the gut, improved quality of the gut lining, and improved balance of the gut microbiome. Gluten is often added to highly processed foods as a binder. When gluten is cut out of a persons diet, often many of these highly processed foods are also decreased. However, if a person goes gluten free by replacing gluten containing products with other highly processed "gluten free" foods, often their issues remain unresolved.
